Where is the villa?

Villa Zinna is located about five miles out of Ragusa, Sicily. Click here for googlemap location.

How do I get there?

Fly to Catania Airport, take a short taxi to meeting point where our shuttle bus will whisk you away to the villa. Alternately, if you can find a flight to small Comiso airport which is only 20 minutes away, we will pick you from there.

What should I bring?

Once your reservation is confirmed you will receive a recommended packing list from Travellur. Here is a materials list from Ana.

•   Watercolors (pan sets, tubes, liquid watercolors, all are welcome).

•   Variety of bushes, different shapes and sizes are recommended.

•   Watercolor paper. Pads work best while workshopping!

•   Cloth or rag for excess paint.

•   Portable water cup, optional.

•   Any type of special ink or paint you love! Watercolor mixes well with other mediums and experimentation is encouraged. (Optional)

Ana will bring some extra paints for you to mix and match with.

Can I rent my own car?

Yes! If you are the adventurous type who likes to explore, we recommend renting your own car from Catania airport and enjoying the freedom of your own transport. There is plenty of on-site parking. Rental car prices should be about 230€ / week.

What kind of food?

We will have delicious local Sicilian food prepared by our private chef at the villa, including gluten-free options. Each meal at the villa will feature a buffet with a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian choices. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are included. There will always be snacks and beverages available at all times. We will also be eating a few restaurants known for good food, friendly atmosphere and excellent views. You will have one lunch and one dinner free to strike out on your own, have dinner with a smaller group, or take the night off.

What language are we talking?

All instruction will be in English, but Spanish, French and Italian are welcome in conversation.

What time should I get there?

We will confirm a pick-up time and place once we have an idea of who is arriving when. Most flights from the US and Mexico will be arriving in the morning. If you are flying from Europe, book a morning flight. We expect the pick up to be around noon. If you are driving your own car, take a scenic route and try to get to the villa before 5pm!

What about check out time?

Check out time will be at 10am on Saturday June 16. You can leave your bags for the day if you have a late flight.

What kind of money?

Sicily is an Italian island using the Euro. It’s best to bring Euros with you because the exchange rate at the airport is poor and there are not a lot of ATMs.
