Breeze across shimmering fields of wheat

welcomes you with olives and wine.
The Colors of Sicily retreat will draw from the natural elements of the surrounding countryside; utilizing textures, colors and of course the delicious Sicilian light which particularly lends itself to the subtly of watercolor. There will be creative instruction, studio time, cultural tours, gorgeous Italian food and plenty of down time to rest and retreat. In addition to artistic exercise and refeshment, you will taste the history of this legendary island. Most of all you will come to appreciate a scenic beauty so abundant, it lured the Greeks away from Greece!
Ana Victoria Calderon is a Mexico City based artist. She was raised in tropical Cancun, surrounded by vegetation and nature, which heavily inspired her style. Her main subjects are florals, foliage, space, lettering, earth, symbolism, and a few spiritual pieces here and there. She enjoys working with watercolor, ink and acrylics on paper.
You can find Ana in her studio, painting, managing her online sales and licensing projects with amazing companies or teaching workshops online and around the world.
Villa Zinna is a sprawling 17th-century country estate located in the Province of Ragusa, Sicily and built on a site dating back to ancient times. Once a property of the order of the Knights of Malta this preferred Travellur venue is now a slow-chic hideaway welcoming visitors with its rustic charm and a spirit of creative enlightenment. The villa has a massive pool, sleek modern conveniences, and is blessed with plenty of workspace and playspace. The baroque town of Ragusa Ibla, one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, is 20 minutes away as is the beach and boardwalk.
Sicily is located off the southern tip of Italy which means it’s warm and exotic in June and washed with the most beautiful light in the Mediterranean. The fertile plains and breathtaking views have attracted visitors, artists, poets and invaders for millennia. The Greeks, Carthegenians, Romans, Byzantines, and Normans have all conquer this place, and all have left their culture mark. We will enjoy the grandeur of the barouque towns and the wonder of Roman ruins and mosaics. We will wander labrythine gardens and turreted castles, dine al fresco and swim in the sea.
