We are pleased to offer you a five night extension in the city of Bordeaux to enjoy the best things this city and her world famous wine country has to offer.

This package is for the five nights after the wedding package, October 10-15 2025. Pick up at your hotel in St. Emilion at 5pm Oct. 10, check out 10am Oct. 15. Each day there are group activities to inspire you and free time to head out on your own. After the pool party Oct. 10, we’ll meet you at your hotel to take you into the the city and you’ll check in to the hotel and have a free evening to relax and get settled before dinner at one of the recommended restaurants you’ll find in our special guide. On the morning of October 10 you’ll take your own taxi to the train station for a mid-morning train back to Paris. The Bordeaux extension package comes with explicit instructions on how not to miss your train, a custom Bordeaux PDF guide with our favorite recommendations for restaurants, specialty museums, recommend walks and other fun things to do in Bordeaux plus our invaluable support for your travel related questions. In the upgrades section you’ll find things you might want to add like optional tickets to a concert at the Grand Theatre of Bordeaux, a tour of Grand Cru Classé Margaux wineries, luggage delivery or add double occupancy to your package.

We have crafted a special guide just for you. All our favorite things about Bordeaux City are in here which links to visit, learn more, buy tickets, make reservations, and relevant information like where, when and how much. It’s a digital guide so you’ll always have it on your phone and can become an instant expert on Bordeaux. Besides the self guided walking tour of the highlights of the city, you’ll find restaurants, wine info, museums, details about the Fête des Vendage (wine harvest festival) which we arranged for you over the weekend. Okay, we didn’t actually arrange it but we want you to enjoy it so we’ll put all the details in the guide for you.

Arcachon Bassin

11aM - 4pm SunDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2025

You’ll be picked up at the hotel at 11am and the the tour will start with a casual lunch at a local legend seafood restaurant, then we’ll board a private boat for an hour long cruise around the Arcachon Bassin to see the highest sand dune in Europe, traditional Fishermans houses on stilts, oyster and fish farming, sumptuous villas along the waters edge and ethereal views of the big blue. Most of the oysters in France are grown in this Bassin which is widely considered the source of the best oysters in the world, dating back to the 19th century when oysters and Arcachon Bassin became a thing among the Gilded Age set. The boat will drop us off in a funky little oyster farmer village where our oyster guy will show us how it’s done and we’ll slurp the freshest oysters you ever had and toast to simple pleasures with dry white wine. Our private van will drop us off back at the hotel around 4pm in time for an evening drink at the cafe before dinner. This is a casual, family fun day, full of fresh sea air; dress comfortably and bring your sun glasses!

Train tickets to Bordeaux

One-way train tickets from Bordeaux TGV train station to Paris October 15 with crucial instructions on how to find your train in the very busy and confusing train station, how to find your car once you’re on the right platform and how to find your seats. Navigating all this with luggage can be a handful, so we’ve added optional luggage delivery in the upgrades section for an easier time on your travel day. We will make your train booking and send you your digital tickets with QR code which you can print out or have on your phone.

Concert Grand Theatre

8:30PM SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2025

Take in a classical musical concert at the Grand Theatre of Bordeaux, inaugurated in 1780 (before the French Revolution!!) and is still considered one of the most beautiful theatres in the world. Not only is it visual gorgeous but it boasts exceptional acoustics thanks to engineering a wooden box around the seating area. Nearly a century after its construction, Charles Garnier drew inspiration from the grand staircase for his design of the Opéra Garnier in Paris. Booking deadline May 30, 2025.

Margaux Wineries

10am - 5PM tuesDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2025

Bordeaux is known for its great wines, and the Margaux appellation in the Haut-Médoc district produces some of the world's most famous and refined red wines. We’ll pick you up at the hotel in a private mini-van for this 7 hour tour of three very pretty Grand Cru Classé wineries plus lunch. The tour starts at Château du Tertre where we’ll visit the 18th century chateau and it’s sumptuous interiors then taste their wines. We’ll have lunch nearby at a not fancy, but infamous roadside bistro where the wine makers of Margaux eat and trade wine stories. After lunch we’ll walk down the Route des Chateaux - the road where all the most prestidgeous chateau wineries are found - for a visit and tasting at Château Prieuré-Lichine who have been making Grand Cru Classé wines since 1855! Then we’ll have tour at their neighbor Chateau Kirwan and learn about the unique qualities of the terrior and how they turn grapes into wine - of course we’ll taste it to make sure they are doing a good job. It’s a wine filled day of fields, distilleries, castles, cellars and tasting rooms, but dont worries, you dont have to drive. Booking deadline May 30, 2025.

Luggage

This Bordeaux package includes train tickets back to Paris October 15th. Please note that there is no checked baggage for the train and it can be tricky to get on the train with multiple suitcases. We recommend luggage delivery service for those with large suitcases or not accustom to traveling by train in Europe. This service picks up your luggage at your hotel in Bordeaux and delivers it at your hotel in Paris. In this way, you can travel with ease and just bring your snacks and book on the train. Luggage delivery is priced per bag; be sure to select the correct number of bags before clicking add to cart. We will arrange with the luggage service and the hotel to have your bags delivered.
