Here are some frequently asked questions about the tour with respectful, honest answers.

If you have a question that is not answered below, feel free to contact Travellur directly here.

Who is going on this tour?

This tour is for professional event planners who want to add new venues to their selection of Italian venues or want to expand their services to the best selling destination in Italy. Prospective brides or engaged couples are also welcome to join our tour and get a personal introduction to venues and vendors.

Is this a luxury vacation?

No. This is an affordable way to invest in the future of your destination event business. While the accommodations will be comfortable and chic, we will dispense with the bells and whistles for the sake of budget. The cost of doing this on your own at the same properties with a private car and driver will be at least double, so it is a very good deal. Don’t expect white gloves or extravagant soirees. Do expect to achieve your professional goals.

If you desire five star accommodation and service, we will happily arrange that for you at an additional cost.

What should I wear?

We will be visiting lovely venues in Tuscany in spring when the daytime temperatures are in the low 70’s. Wearing comfortable but semi-professional attire is advisable. Layers are good since mornings and evenings can be cool and midday sunshine very warm. Bear in mind there will be a good amount of driving. Bring sensible shoes as there will be a bit of walking especially if you want to wander the gardens. Rain and unusually cold temperature are always a possibility - check the weather forecast before departure.

How do I get to Florence?

Most major cities have non-stop flights to Florence. April is blessed with the lowest airfare prices of the year. Sometimes as low as 700$ coach from New York. The best way to get from the airport is by taxi or airport tram. DO NOT get a ride from a stranger who approaches you at the airport. Only get a taxi from the designated taxi line. Contact Travellur if you need assistance with flights, want a private airport transfer or if you want to extend your trip or have complicated travel plans in conjunction with this tour.

When should I get there?

Most flights from the US arrive early in the morning, usually before 9am. Most travelers getting off those flights are 300% knackered and just want to go to a hotel and sleep it off. Florence airport is 25 minutes away from the city. The tour starts at 10am on the first day. Unless you’re traveling business and are really good at sleeping on the plane, you probably won’t have enough time to recover and rest if you arrive the morning of Monday April 22. The tour will be busy and you’ll want your faculties in full working order so you can make the most of your investment. I recommend arriving the day before and using that first day to acclimatize and recover. Let us know if you wish us to book accommodation for you for the night before the tour starts. We know places. Good places.

How do I get from the Borgo to Florence after the tour?

There are trains from Siena to Florence costing about 30€ which take 1.5 hours. If staying a bit longer in Tuscany sounds like the best idea you’ve had in ages, Travellur can arrange discounted prices at the hotel to extend your stay. If you wish to continue touring venues in other parts of Italy, Travellur can make private arrangements for you according to your budget.

What about the food?

We will be sharing most dinners at the featured venues. Breakfast is included with accommodation. There will be opportunity to strike out on your own for lunch in one of the lovely villages we will visit on day three. The food in Tuscany is diverse and insanely good. Expect meat, fish and vegetarian options at every meal. Disclaimer: you will gain weight because the pasta is ridiculous. Italy has the highest per capita gluten intolerance in Europe. Therefore gluten free options abound. If you have dietary restrictions, bringing your own staples from home or getting them in Florence before the tour is recommended. Travellur understands and respects food limitations. If you have specific concerns, please contact us.

What language are we talking?

The tour and site visits will be conducted in English. All the vendors and venue event coordinators you will meet speak English.

What is the local currency?

Italy uses the Euro. Withdrawing cash from ATMs in Florence is recommended for best rates. Getting all the cash you need for the tour in Tuscany is essential. We will be touring breathtakingly beautiful countryside but ATMs are few and very far between.

What about check-out time?

Check-out time is 10:30am on the morning of Friday April 26. You will be able to leave your bag at reception and enjoy the property until your departure later that day. If you wish to stay longer, accommodation can be arranged in advance.

Can I rent my own car?

Yes! This is actually a very good idea if you’re the independent type, want to do dinner in town, or plan to extend your stay and continue exploring the region. Tour price could be discounted (200-300€) to guests who wish to rent their own car.
